Located along the shores of Lake Maxinkuckee, Indiana's second largest natural lake, Culver is an ideal community for recreation, raising a family, or retirement. Located in North Central Indiana, downtown Culver is snugged against the shores of beatiful Lake Maxinkuckee, the second largest natural lake in Indiana at 1864 acres. The northern shore is home to the world-renowned Culver Military Academy and Culver Girls Academy. Culver's population of approximately 1500 people in the winter and around 4000 during the summer, reflects the draw of the lake.

Located on the downtown lakeshore, Culver's Town Park offers swimming, refreshments, large picnic areas, and kids play areas.
