On Stewart Island we have lots of beautiful bush walks, anything from ten minutes to ten days and we are handy for several tracks. On Stewart Island you can have a sandy beach to yourself even at the height of the season. Bus tours cover the entire road system [30 km!] daily. The island is larger than Singapore but apart from a very small area around the only township, is covered in native forest or tussock. Tramping tracks take you into more remote areas. There are comfortable huts at reasonable intervals....
