Des Moines is located in King County, Washington on the east shore of Puget Sound, and most of the city rolls gently down to the waters of Puget Sound. The most notable asset is the 838-berth small boat marina with moorage, boat launching and pier fishing facilities. Des Moines is mostly a residential community close to the forested Saltwater State Park.
