Aviation Museum of Kentucky2012-11-12
Located in Lexington, Fayette County, Kentucky, United States
Aviation Museum of Kentucky in Lexington, Kentucky, was founded in 1978, and is a non-profit educational organization. The museum has displays of military and civilian aircraft which range from restored vintage airliners and barnstomers to historic war planes and today's aircraft. The museum today incorporates 12,000 square feet of exhibit space, a library, and an aircraft restoration and repair shop, and we offer docent-guided or self-guided tours of the museum's permanent collection of historic airplanes, documents, photos and training equipment. A scholar field trip to the Aviation Museum of Kentucky is an exciting way of teaching outside of the classroom, and students can explore the artefacts, historic architecture and documents, close up. Many of our exhibits were donated from personal collections of aviation enthusiasts. READ MORE
