Moss Beach is located in San Mateo County, California as experiences above average levels of fog and superior air quality, the Montara State Marine Reserve and Pillar Point State Marine Conservation Area extends offshore from Moss Beach. The Moss Beach Distillery and sea view restaurant is a building of historilal interest with links to the prohibition and bootlegging days, and the largest patio dock in region comes complete with resident ghost, and the beach is ideal for sea kayaking, swimming and sunbathing. Moss beach is also home to the Fitzgerald Marine Reserve, a marine sanctuary and the Half Moon Bay Airport.
