What an exciting day for the Giant Seychelles tortoises at the National Botanical Gardens on Mahe Island Seychelles.

They have received a larger enclosure to roam, moan, and dip themselves in fresh water. What a life!

The new Seychelles Giant Tortoise Enclosure was officially opened by the Minister for Environment and Energy Professor Rolph Payet in a small ceremony in the at National Botanical Gardens located in Victoria on Mahe Island.

The larger enclosure, which houses 30 tortoises, will now enable visitors to the gardens to interact with the tortoises and even feed them. Information is available at the information counter and they will confirm what you can feed the tortoises.

But we are Chalets d' Anse Forbans are very fortunate and we offer our guests the same privilege to enjoy these amazing creatures. Our Seychelles giant tortoises are located on the far left of the beach chalets closest to the old Seychelles Creole House. If you would like to know more about our tortoises please do ask our staff and we would be happy to let you know what they eat and more information on our tortoises from their ages to their names.
