Three Anchor Bay

Three Anchor Bay lies on the seaward side of Signal Hill between Sea Point and Green Point. About ten minutes from Cape Town city, and owing to its location on the coastal stretch of Beach Road, it is a convenient spot to explore both the attractions of the city as well as the trendy beaches and settlements along the Atlantic Seaboard. Known for its cozy beach, wide lawns and Seaside Promenade, Three Anchor Bay is named after the anchors used to keep a chain across the inlet as a defence during the Napoleonic wars.

Today, it is a harbour for small watercraft and is a very popular spot with fishermen. The popular suburb of Sea Point immediately to the south is a hubbub of entertainment and boasts restaurants, 24-hour cafes, and trendy nightclubs. The beautiful white beaches of Clifton, Camps Bay and Llandudno are all close by, as is the Table Mountain Aerial Cableway.
