Access to this unique Lighthouse is only through Guided tours on specific days, and these tours give visitors an interesting insight into the vital role that a Lighthouse served in maritime navigation. Volunteer guides at Piedras Blancas Light Station are knowledgeable and friendly, and with binoculars conveniently placed in the Lighthouse visitors are able to see seals, pelicans, whales, dolphins frolicking in the surrounding waters.
