Jack's Jewel Bed & Breakfast

Jack's Jewel Bed & Breakfast in Port Townsend , Jefferson County, United States | Bed and Breakfast

Located on the hill in historic Port Townsend in the United States, Jack's Jewel Bed & Breakfast, a Victorian house was originally owned by Caroline Tibbals who, before they divorced, was married to Captain Tibbals who himself was one of the main movers and shakers in the shaping of the seaport.
It is said that Caroline acquired the house for $1.00 in the divorce settlement. Other reports say she got the whole block for $1.00.  It is a fact that the Tibbals owned the whole block at some point. Not much can be found about Caroline, although town records show she herself was a tavern owner, rather unusual for her times.
Jack's Jewel Bed & Breakfast has been a Bed and Breakfast establishment in Port Townsend for several years.  At one time it was known as the Inn Deering and then became the Chanticleer through three sets of innkeepers. The house became Jack's Jewel Bed & Breakfast in 2006 and re-opened its doors to guests in 2007.
It is to be hoped that the history and hospitality of Jack's Jewel Bed & Breakfast will bring enjoyment along with rest and relaxation to those who enter the portals of this seaport house with its fantastic view of the waters where the Keystone/Port Townsend ferry and many sailboats are often seen catching the winds of adventure Captain and Caroline Tibbals knew in their day.
