The Historical Society of Dauphin County in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, was established in 1869, and is presently located in a beautiful stone house that was built by John Harris, an early settler. The Historical Society offers interesting Guided tours of the Harris-Cameron mansion, which is also available as a rental facility for weddings, business functions, celebrations and many other private events for up to 100 guests. The Historical Society of Dauphin County also administers the library, located in an adapted 1890 brick stable, that contains thousands of books pertaining to local history and interesting genealogical data, collections of historical records, photo archives and many other educational and interesting collections.
