The windmill is known as a meeting place, and a place for people to gather for friendship. When I was a boy and we were working cattle we brought them to a central location and the windmills always were a great spot.

The windmills were strategically placed so that the livestock would not have to go very far for water. When you were in a large pasture that was new to you, you always looked for windmills to give you guidance so not to get lost.

These windmills had a large play on my life for bringing people together and the memories, and that is why there is a windmill in front and why it's called.. Ed's Old Windmill Restaurant!

While Ed was cooking at the YO Ranch, he cooked and catered many of the Ranch’s parties for 2,000 plus people. He also cooked and catered for Brinks Brangus Sales in Sisterdale and also for Chas.

David, Ed's son, has only been in the restaurant business for only 4 years he is very smart and proficient at what he starts and completes. "I am very proud of him and he is a great asset to Canyon Lake and to Ed’s Old Windmill."
