Dungeness River Audubon Center at Railroad Bridge Park, in Sequim, Washington

An Educational and Interpretive Center for the north Olympic Peninsula

The Dungeness River Audubon Center's mission is to interpret the natural history of the north Olympic Peninsula, focusing on the Dungeness River watershed, to enable residents, students and visitors to explore, understand, preserve, and enjoy our unique natural environment.

The Dungeness River Audubon Center at Railroad Bridge Park is an active partnership of four organizations operating under an Memorandum of Understanding.

The North Olympic Peninsula offers exceptional birdwatching year-round. Our mild winters support large numbers of sea birds, including waterfowl. Spring and Fall migration times offer great species diversity. Due to diverse habitat , from rainforest to tidelands, many species remain as summer residents.

The 15-mile-diameter "count circle" that forms the core of "Christmas Bird Count" and spring "birdathon" activities of OPAS (dating back 20+ years) is centered not far from the River Center site. The river corridor and estuary are valuable habitat and staging areas for resident and migratory birds.
