The atmosphere here is festive and there is usually a crowd gathered outside waiting for a table, so reservations are recommended. On one lonely Monday night, the dinner reservation book filled up within the first 10 minutes of opening.
Diners can sit outside in the courtyard beneath lush foliage and umbrellas or in the restaurant, which is decorated with pale colored stucco walls and Mexican tile. Localsâ?? willingness to dine at a particular restaurant is usually a good clue about the quality of food. On this particular night, the majority of patrons were known by name to the waitress. The restaurant opened for business in 1974 in a small building that looked like something from the book, The Hobbit. Hence the name, Bilboâ??s - a reference to the book.
