We are an independently owned hostel. We think of our guests as our family. People often think that our location is our greatest asset, but guests quickly realize the Banana Bungalow hostel is more than just location. The attitude is laid back and there is a positive energy that comes from staff and guests alike. It is a beach home, a place to easily make life-long friends.

The Banana Bungalow Youth Hostel has many amenities to ensure all guests enjoy their stay at the beach. One of Banana Bungalow's most widely used amenities is our enormous deck that overlooks the beach - the best place for people watching, enjoying San Diego's spectacular sunsets, checking out surf conditions, and grilling on our large BBQ grill. This is where our hostels nightly parties take place and travelers enjoy meeting each other. Every Sunday a free BBQ is offered and on Wednesdays you can enjoy our $1 cheese burgers (we offer both meat and veggie). Our hostels themed parties are always a big hit.
