Acadia Zoo in Trenton, Mercer County, United States | Family Entertainment Centre

Finaly Matheson, longtime summer resident of Seal Harbor, began the Acadia Zoo in 1984. At that time the zoo was primarily a seasonal petting zoo for children. In 1989 Mr. Matheson turned the zoo over to an entirely new group of individuals headed by the late Stanley Grierson.

The focus of the zoo then shifted to creating a diverse and stable collection of animals and to present them in an educationsl setting. "Our #1" priority is the animals. We offer visitors to the zoo a few examples of the amazing wildlife that lives on our planet.
