The Shreveport Symphony Orchestra in Shreveport is the oldest continually operating professional Orchestra in Louisiana and one of the most respected in the USA. The Orchestra offers live performances and concerts in the concert hall over the season, and Musical instruments played include the violin, viola, cello, bass, flute, piccolo, oboe, English horn, E-flat clarinet, bass clarinet, bassoon, horn, trumpet, trombone, bass trombone, tuba, timpani, percussion, piano and harp. The Shreveport Symphony Orchestra also offers an educational series for upper elementary students and Musicians even travel directly into classrooms, school assemblies, and other community venues as they teach, perform and share their love of Music.
