In 1986 Maurine Joy opened the doors of Baskets Of Joy to Brunswick, Maine. Not long after that, Anna Granger joined her as a basketmaker and employee. 20 years later, Anna accepted the Baskets Of Joy reins from her long-time friend and employer, Maurine.
Anna's long history with the shop has allowed an almost seamless transition of ownership, maintaining the customer relations and excellence of product that basketmakers across the U.S. have come to expect from Baskets Of Joy. Maurine happily continues to offer her guidance and inspiration--after all, the shop was her "baby" for so long!
Baskets Of Joy has long benefited from Anna's expertise, as well. She has been the driving force behind Baskets Of Joy Kit assembly and projects, has taught many levels of basketmaking classes, and designs and weaves many of the Baskets you see in the collection of Baskets Of Joy patterns. Her dedication to the craft and the art of basketmaking is evident in her commitment to supplying the best quality products to her customers.
