Te Puke

Te Puke means "The hill", referring to its location on a hill near the Papamoa Hills.

The warm, moist climate and fertile soils make it a favourable growing area, especially citrus fruits such as lemons and oranges and kiwifruit. The town markets itself as the "Kiwifruit capital of the world".
