Bad Wiessee

Bad Wiessee - the spa resort at Lake Tegernsee with casino and Germany´s most concentrated Iodine Sulphur springs.

The stunning location on the Western shores of Lake Tegernsee makes Bad Wiessee the ideal place to do sports and relax. Bad Wiessee is known for its healing sulfur-fountain. Because of its quiet and its situation at the north side of the Alps many people spend their holidays there.

Bad Wiessee is also notorious as the scene of the key events within the Night of the Long Knives, June 30, 1934, when Hitler and the SS purged the leadership of the SA, many of whom were staying at the resort.

In 2007 Hollywood actress Farrah Fawcett visted a clinic in Bad Wiessee for stem-cell cancer treatment.
