Newell Beach

Newell Beach is only one hour's drive north of the Cairns International Airport and Domestic flight terminals. On the drive up you will follow the winding coast road with some magnificent views out across the Coral Sea. Stop at the lookout at Rex's point to take those unforgettable snap shots and there are places to pull of the road to take full advantage of our wonderful beaches. Then you will be travelling amongst rolling fields of sugar-cane and, if you are here during the crushing season from June to November, you will see harvesters and sugar trains hard at work.

Newell Beach is only a short drive from famous places such as Port Douglas, the crystal clear rock pools of Mossman Gorge National Park, Daintree Village and Rainforest, and the mighty Daintree River, home to the Estuarine Crocodile and giant Barramundi.

The beautiful beach at Newell looks across The Coral Sea to the laidback tourist holiday village of Port Douglas, (often visited by the rich and famous), Low Isles with it's light-house shines like a gem in the sea, while nearby Snapper Island is a fisherman's playground, as it sits shaped like a crocodile, just off Cape Kimberley and the mouth of the mighty Daintree River.
