Old Bar

Old Bar is a coastal town, with a population of approximately 3011 people, in New South Wales, Australia in the City of Greater Taree. It is east of Taree on the Mid North Coast, and approximately 315km north of Sydney.

Old Bar is at the mouth of the Manning River. The Manning River is one of two "delta" rivers in the southern hemisphere, having more than one outlet to the ocean; one at Old Bar, and one at Harrington, 14km to the north. Before exiting to the ocean, the Manning River carves out several large islands, including Oxley Island and Mitchells Island.

Old Bar has a thriving community market the fourth Sunday of each month, from 8.30 a.m. to noon.
