Cres is the biggest Croatian island, situated at the northern tip of Kvarner gulf. Although scarcely populated, island Cres has been inhabited since later stone age. Island Cres is connected with a short narrow bridge to the smaller but much more populated island Losinj.

Mali Losinj is a town and municipality in the Primorje-Gorski Kotar county, on the island of Losinj, in western Croatia. At the time of the 2001 census there were 8,388 inhabitants, of whom 83% were Croats.

Povljana is located in a beautiful bay to the south of the island of Pag well protected from strong northern and southern winds. Between Povljana and the open sea there is a row of a small islands which divide two Croatian coastal regions: Kvarner and Dalmatia.

The island of VIR is situated about 25 km north-west from Zadar in North Dalmatia and is connected with the mainland by bridge. This 22,5 km large island, by the Italian name of "Punta Dura" (the stony strand), presents itself to the visitor by varigated sceneries, such as those of the rocky tracts of land interspersed with pines and vineyards, fig and olive trees.

Punat is a municipality in the Primorje-Gorski Kotar county in western Croatia. There are 1,876 inhabitants, with 91% Croats. The town first appears in writings from AD 1377, but we do know the exact date of foundation. In the bay there's the little island of Kosljun.

Opatija is a town in western Croatia, just southwest of Rijeka on the Adriatic coast. Opatija is situated in the Gulf of Kvarner in a sheltered position at the foot of Ucka mountain, with Vojak peak at 1401 m. Opatija is located 90 km from Trieste by rail and 82 km from Pula by road. The city is geographically on the Istrian peninsula, though it is not in Istria county, but Primorje-Gorski Kotar county.

Baska is a small town located on the island of Krk, in the Kvarner Bay, at the Adriatic seacoast of Croatia. The population of the municipality is 1,554 (2001), with 901 residents of Baska itself and the rest in three other villages.

Lopar is a picturesque tourist place, the furthermost village on the island, situated in a fertile valley approximately 14 km away from the old town of Rab on the island of Rab.

Novalja is a town in the north of the island of Pag in the Croatian part of Adriatic sea. In recent times Novalja became famous because of the Zrce Beach, which is one of the biggest summer party zones in Europe.

Hammerfest is a city and municipality in Finnmark county, Norway. The municipality encompasses parts of three islands: Kvaloya, Soroya, and Seiland. Hammerfest was established as a municipality on 1 January 1838. The law required that all cities should be separated from their rural districts, but because of low population, and very few voters, this was impossible to carry out for Hammerfest in 1838.

Honningsvaag in Nordkapp municipality, claims to be the northernmost city in Norway and even in the world. It is situated at a bay on the southern side of Mageroya island, while the famous North Cape and its visitors center is on the northern side. It is a port of call for cruise ships, especially in the summer months. Honningsvåg Airport, Valan is located 4 km outside the town, with flights to mainly Tromso.

Havoysund is the administrative centre of the Masoy municipality, Norway. Located on the mainland, it is connected to Havoya with the Havoysund Bridge.
