Its population exceeds 34,000, some of them recent immigrants from North Africa and Eastern Europe (especially Romania).
The town, located by the Mediterranean Sea, has a nice beach (Platja de l'Arenal) and a former commercial harbor, now converted in a marina for small and medium sized yachts.
Its privileged location next to the sea translates into charming beaches, a fishing port, a splendid Nautical Club and a Sailing School. Soon, a vast residential estate with two 4 and 5-star hotels and two golf courses will make Burriana a must due to its enormous tourist interest.
The privileged situation enjoyed by the town, located next to the sea, enables a wide range of water sports, such as windsurfing, sailing, rowing, paddling or fishing. Burriana can really show off its fantastic Nautical Club, Windsurf Club and Sailing School, along with lots of educational activities. The Nautical Club is located near the port, linked to the city centre and separated from the sea by a few kilometres. It has a 400 berth capacity for boats under 15m in length.
