Viana do Castelo is a municipality and seat of the Viana do Castelo District in the Norte Region of Portugal. It is located at the mouth of the Lima River.

The city has a seaport with naval repairing facilities. Its major industry is naval construction and its shipyard is the only one still working in Portugal.
