Maloy

Maloy is centrally located on the west coast of Norway and, with the North Sea as its nearest neighbour, it is Norway's second largest fishing port.

Nature has helped to create a perfect location with a harbour basin that is sheltered from the weather and open sea by a string of islands.

Maloy is a combined commercial and fishing port with good, easy approaches from the north and south. Maloy is an ideal location for maritime activities, offering excellent quay facilities and a wide range of services.

The quays (both public and private) have a total length of roughly 3,500 metres, with ample depth, and there are good moorings for all types of vessel.

Maloy is located on the south-eastern side of the island of Vagsoy, which the municipality is named after, and is connected to the mainland by the bridge Maloybrua. It is one of the most important fishing ports in the region. In 1997, Maloy was allowed by the municipality to call itself a town.
