Bettystown

Bettystown is a thriving village and seaside resort in County Meath, Leinster, Ireland where the famous Tara Brooch was found in the eighth century which showcases the goldsmiths art from that time and is now housed in the Royal Academy Collection of the National Museum, Dublin. Bettystown has a  fine, sandy stretch of beach from Laytown to the mouth of the Boyne at Mornington which is ideal for long beach walks. Every July an official horse race is hosted on the beach and the only beach horse race in Europe. There are hotels, bed and breakfasts, lodges and caravan parks to stay in as well as great dining options and activities including a golf course and amusement park.
