Sorpesee

The Sorpesee also known as Sorpetalsperre, is a reservoir in Hochsauerland, North Rhine-Westphalia. Just as the Biggesee, Möhnesee, the dam is one of the feeders to large dams in the Ruhr Association Sauerland. It offers water supply and power generation as well as leisure and recreation in the area. The Sorpesee lies to the north of the Natural Parks Homert, southwest of Arnsberg in the Sundern belonging to the city area between the hamlets and Langscheid Amecke. It is supported by the Sorpe.

The Sorpesee provides recreational opportunities such as diving, rowing, sailing, surfing, beach volleyball, golf, fishing, hiking, rock climbing and others, including many people from the Ruhr area can be used. The passenger passenger ship MS Sorpesee stands ready during the tourist season for excursion trips.
