Vormsi

Vormsi island is between Noarootsi Peninsula and the Island Hiiumaa.Ferry trip from Rohuküla to Sviby harbour takes about 45 minutes.

Vormsi is covered with a lot of forests, wooded meadows, juniper copses and big boulders. Vormsi had a dense Swedish population. 30 small islets together with the long gravely Rumpo Peninsul form a nature reserve.

In the nice Rumpo village are the best swimming and tenting places.

On the western coast are the Saxby lighthouse and limestone bank.In Hullo village is the Swedish Vormsi Church (1632) and an old cemetery with stone circular crosses.
The area of the island is 93 km2 and the population is 331.
