Built in 1811, Restaurant Lutter & Wegner  has maintained its reputation since then.   Hotel Lutter Wegner is one of the best known and most popular restaurants in Berlin, Germany.

The cellar of the house  where Restaurant  Lutter & Wegner now store their excellent sparkling wines, fine red and white wines from the most famous growing areas of that time,  was used as the backdrop for Jacques Offenbach's opera "Tales of Hoffmann".

Royals of the House of Prussia and Bismarck Reich founders knew how to appreciate what Berlin's most famous wine cellar  Restaurant Lutter & Wegner had to offer.

In the wild twenties Josephine Baker and Marlene Dietrich, the Tiller Girls, Claire Waldoff and Friedrich Dutchman made a big splash in the entertainment world of Berlin and further afield.   After premieres and shows, directors and stars all met at Restaurant Lutter & Wegner for dining and wining until Hitler's sirens cut into the night,  bombs were dropped and all culture, art and joy of life that had previously been created and enjoyed come to a halt and life at Restaurant Lutter & Wegner  ceased.   After the war, Restaurant Lutter & Wegner started a small wine shop,  and from this wine shop Restaurant Lutter & Wegner evolved again over time
