Parry Sound Public Library resources can be used in the library free of charge. It is not necessary to obtain a membership.

Non-resident members may purchase a membership at an additional cost.

The Local History Room in the library contains a special collection of reference materials of interest to genealogists and to those interested in the history of Parry Sound and area. The Local History Room contains many resources including: * census returns for Muskoka & Parry Sound 1871,1881, 1891,1901 on microfilm * Duncan Fraser MacDonald Diaries 1871-1919 on microfilm * North Star newspaper 1879-1971 (name index up to 1965) on microfilm and 1971 to present in paper copy * microfilm machine with printer capabilities * books by and about local people * Parry Sound telephone books 1943 to present
