Recognized by enRoute Magazine as one of Canada?s Top 10 New Restaurants of 2009, Murray Street Restaurant in Ottawa, Ontario, is back-to-the-basics and authentically Canadian. Found on Byward Market?s ?Gastro Alley?, the owners Paddy Whelan and Chef Steve Mitton pay homage to the Canada?s cultural, agricultural and service heritage.
The Chef at Murray Street Restaurant prepares inspired comfort foods made with locally found, seasonal and sustainable ingredients that echo and build on the spirit and history of Canada.
Paddy graciously invites you to come and share in the ?down east hospitality?, relaxed and attentive service experience within the warmth of the reclaimed barn-board lined dining room, or in the tucked-away grapevine-trellised courtyard. There are many wines available by the glass, and also artisan tapped and bottled beer; many coming from the region. We also feature a ?Charcuterie Bar? which allows our guests to taste the areas best meats and cheeses; and many of these items are prepared on-site.
The philosophies of sustainability, 'farm to fork' and 'head to tail', are all reflected in their deep respect for animals, plants and the farmers who raise them. With integrity they bring what is found in the farms around the region to your table.
Murray Street Restaurant in Ottawa, Ontario, features regional micro-breweries and a breadth of Canadian wines.
