Ronald Maycock opened the first location of Maycock Optical over 55 years ago at the corner of Johnson and Broad in downtown Victoria.  Ronald always felt Maycock Optical had "One Purpose - To Serve You Well." And by offering this dedication to customer service with quality eyewear, Maycock Optical soon became a name people could count on for all their Eye Care products.
The fresh faced 25-year-old realized that while expert Eye Care and customer service were the cornerstones of Maycock Optical, there was room for the company to expand.
Brian Maycock has overseen Maycock Optical's expansion from the original store to five locations on Vancouver Island.  Brian Maycock is recognized in the industry for his innovations with contact lenses and low vision and is known for his caring attentiveness to patients. Karen Maycock joined her husband in 1985 and has been an integral part of the company's success. Over the years, the two have added a new dimension to Maycock Optical - namely one-of-a-kind style in eyewear.
Maycock Optical's third generation, Jodi Maycock, is thrilled to be involved with the family business. Jodi, a licensed optician since 2001, is currently working at the Nanaimo location of Maycock Optical located in the Country Club Centre.
Brian and Karen are still at the helm of the company, which is now known as Maycock Eyecare, in recognition of the transformation into a primary Eye Care practice. Expanded services including full eye examinations are now offered at the downtown Victoria clinic, the Nanaimo clinic and the brand-new Sidney clinic. Maycock Eyecare has evolved to become more than a store to buy glasses - it is a centre for all facets of professional eyecare.
