MacBride Museum in Whitehorse, Yukon, Canada | Museum

Welcome to MacBride Museum, Whitehorse, Canada. From gold rush fever to the birth of our capital city, the MacBride Museum of Yukon History offers the most comprehensive view of the colourful characters and groundbreaking events that shaped the territory.

Come face-to-face with a seven-foot grizzly and an albino moose in our Wild World Gallery, and share an interactive experience for the whole family in the Kids Discovery Zone.  Discover the truth behind the Robert Service legend at Sam McGee’s Cabin and learn about Engine 51, the locomotive that built the WP&YR railway, in our outdoor courtyards.  Follow the North-West Mounted Police’s journey as they established law and order in the North and explore local First Nation cultures through our superb collection of beadwork and artifacts.  We also offer guided tours with knowledgeable interpreters, and a chance to try your hand at one of the territory’s oldest professions – gold panning.

Take home your own Yukon treasure from the Museum’s gift shop, which features real gold jewelry, handmade works by local artists, historic photographs and books.  Take a stroll through Yukon's past. We offer guided tours of our galleries for families and groups. We ask that you book ahead during the winter season. Or, during the summer months, you can pretend you're a prospector scouring the Klondike creeks and try your hand at gold panning. We provide the pans.
