Ikhwezi Community Centre in Paarl, Cape Winelands, South Africa | Community Centre

Ikhwezi, which is a Xhosa word for morning star, is a community centre situated on a 2.4 hectare smallholding on the periphery of the Mbekweni Township in the Western Cape Province. The aim of the centre is to assist and empower disadvantaged women and children in the Paarl, Mbekweni and Wellington area and to address the high rate of unemployment and poverty in these communities. Ikhwezi is geared at assisting underprivileged or needy people residing int eh Paarl/Mbokweni area, in the following manner:

* Empowerment and life skills training programs.
* Social Development program.
* Development program.
