On 12th February 2001, Birthcare Parnell opened it's purpose built maternity hospital for the women of Auckland and their babies.
Situated at 20 Titoki Street, Parnell behind the old Blind Institute. The hospital offers free births and postnatal stays (fully funded by the government) Birthcare also offers a full range of hotel services for those mothers wanting a little extra at this special time.
The new hospital has 45 beds configured as follows:
2 purpose built birthing suites
22 beds - twin share en-suite
21 beds - private single en-suite
4 of our private rooms have double beds
Birthcare is the leader in quality postnatal care. Postnatal rooms are situated on both levels 1 and 2.
We have fold down beds which are available on request for fathers who wish to stay over in the private rooms.
The birthing suites are on level 1 and include specially designed birthing pools for labour and/or birth.
At Birthcare women are offered a wide variety of ways to birth - these include options of aromatherapy, homeopathy and water therapy
Birthcare has a catering contract with a resident chef on site to provide nutritious meals. Meals as well as morning and afternoon tea are served either in your room or in one of the patient lounges. We cater for all special dietary requirements so please let us know if you have any special requirements.
Birthcare provides underground parking for its LMC's and for all visitors. Please use the park side entry to 20 Titoki Street. Please park in a 'Birthcare' car park and take the lift to level 2.
Visiting hours are from 2.00pm to 8.00pm. Partners, children and grandparents can visit from 8.00am to 8.00pm. Private room visiting is from 8.00am to 8.00pm. Please remember new mothers need rest. Bear this in mind when inviting friends to visit.
