Welcome to the Atrium Motor Lodge (formerly Fantasyland Motel) in Hastings, Hawkes Bay, New Zealand. The Atrium Motor Lodge was built in 1973 to service the then iconic Fantasyland Leisure Park which catered for children. Today, that same park is known as Splash Planet Water Theme Park.
Atrium Motor Lodge was renamed in 2008 to highlight the shape of the building using the true definition of the word "atrium".
Atrium is defined as "a courtyard or patio surrounded by a house. It may be open to the outside or be roofed with skylight; typically contains plants. An atrium is also an open area in the centre of a multi story building".
The complex is comprised of a variety of units ranging from studio units, sleeping 1- 3 people, right through to large 2-bedroom units sleeping up to 7 people.
All units have full kitchen facilities, Sky television, wireless internet access and central heating.
During the off-peak periods we offer weekly and monthly rates for those either relocating to the Hawke's Bay or unable to move smoothly between houses. We have become a preferred accommodation provider for immigrants from the UK in particular, who find it very convenient while waiting for their container of worldly possessions to arrive. It is also just enough time to find more permanent accommodation! Tariffs are set to deter long term "renters" but attractive enough for those with a genuine need for several weeks' accommodation.
