| Hou lies about 8 km north of Hals, right at the Kattegat. The holiday houses are situated in a preserved forest area behind the coast, which stretches far inland on both sides of Hou.
The well-preserved old fishing houses are evidence of the fact that Hou is an old fishing hamlet. The town has a modern and evocative marina with a long pier.
