Makarska is a small town on the Adriatic coastline of Croatia, about 60 km southeast of Split and 140 km northwest of Dubrovnik. Administratively Makarska has the status of a town and it is part of the Split-Dalmatia county.

Trogir is the best-preserved Romanesque-Gothic complex not only in the Adriatic, but in all of Central Europe. The island of VIR is situated about 25 km north-west from Zadar in North Dalmatia and is connected with the mainland by bridge. This 22,5 km large island, by the Italian name of "Punta Dura" (the stony strand), presents itself to the visitor by varigated sceneries, such as those of the rocky tracts of land interspersed with pines and vineyards, fig and olive trees.
