Cres is the biggest Croatian island, situated at the northern tip of Kvarner gulf. Although scarcely populated, island Cres has been inhabited since later stone age. Island Cres is connected with a short narrow bridge to the smaller but much more populated island Losinj.

Povljana is located in a beautiful bay to the south of the island of Pag well protected from strong northern and southern winds. Between Povljana and the open sea there is a row of a small islands which divide two Croatian coastal regions: Kvarner and Dalmatia.

The island of VIR is situated about 25 km north-west from Zadar in North Dalmatia and is connected with the mainland by bridge.
