Museum of Science

Museum of Science in Boston, New England, United States | Museum

Spanning the Charles River with wings in two cities, the Museum of Science is a community landmark. As Boston's most-attended cultural institution, the Museum sparks the curiosity of 1.6 million visitors a year through public presentations and over 550 interactive exhibits. Each year, some 250,000 students visit the Museum in school groups. The Museum serves others through Camp-Ins, adult lectures, Science Vans, and other educational outreach programs, partnerships, traveling exhibits, and Web-based activities. Its long-range exhibit plan Science Is an Activity has profoundly influenced exhibit development at other major science centers and continues to receive major funding from the National Science Foundation, and private donors. With the support of the Lowell Institute and others, 16 to 25 percent of our visitors experience the Museum through fully or partially funded visits each year.
