Restaurant Aigner in Berlin, Berlin, Germany | A la Carte Restaurants

Restaurant Aigner on Berlin's Gendarmenmarkt in Germany, offers one of the most beautiful backgrounds for a pure eating experience, with a view of both the French and German Cathedrals.

Viennese? Berliner? Unquestionably Aigner is  Viennese Cafe charm in Berlin.

In order to offer the Berlin public an authenic atmosphere, we worked in careful detail to bring the original Thonet Jugendstil furnishings of the legendary Cafe Aigner in Vienna, as a culinary historic piece of the Danube city of Berlin to the Spree.

In the summer Restaurant Aigner offers a comfortable open air feelilng with a view of the Gendarmenmarkt from our spacious terrace. The reception room, with its billiard table, invites one to enjoy a drink. The bar is the communication meeting point and a place to enjoy, for example, a freshly tapped Bitburger or Berliner Pilsner, a before or after dinner drink, or simply for the night cap later on.

If desired, Restaurant Aigner is also available for private or business meals and smaller events.

The name of the restaurant, Restaurant Aigner, comes from the once famous Viennese cafe, which was originally built in 1903 in Vienna's Linzerstrasse, and closed in the late 1980s.  Herbert Beltle opened Restaurant Aigner on the Gendarmenmarkt in Berlin in 1999.

Furnishings  in Restaurant Aigner, located in the historic center of  Berlin, not only appear to be old, but in fact really are as the furnishings come from the original Cafe Aigner in Vienna.  After its closing, the complete inventory was moved to the Dorint Hotel in Berlin and made to the 150 seat capacity restaurant of today.
