The cave offers a stillness and isolation and today you enter through a small building in the City Hotel car park and descend down a tunnel with many steep steps with handrails on both sides, and there are information boards and audio points as you descend telling you about St. Margaret and the history of Dunfermline. St Margaret’s Cave is small and a visit here is interesting and informative, come for a wonderful lesson in history.
