    The Australian National Maritime Museum is located at Darling Harbour in Sydney, Australia, was officially opened in 1991, and to date has already acquired over 40,000 objects for display. As a result of commerce, defence, explorations, adventure and sport, Australians have always been closely linked with the sea and this has played a large part in their development. Through their interesting and fascinating exhibits, The Australian National Maritime Museum brings these facts to light for visitors. Our online resources and education programmes have also proved to be beneficial to students. Guided tours are available on request for the Wharf 7 Maritime Heritage Centre, which houses the Vaughan Evans Library, boatbuilding and ship model workshops, a display area and many other facilities.
