The Kenmare Stone Circle
The Kenmare Stone Circle is a wonderful attraction in Kenmare, County Kerry, Ireland and the largest stone circle in south West Ireland, and unlike any other in Muster, is egg shaped. Built during the bronze age 2.200 to 500 B.C. stone circles are believed to be for ritual and ceremonial purposes, often orientated on lunar and solar events. The Kenmare Stone Circle has 15 heavy boulders with a giant capstone or impressive boulder Dolmen in the centre believed to mark the burial place of someone important, come for a wonderful walk and view this impressive feature from days of old, it's an awesome, thought provoking and inspiring experience.
