Wildlife and Dinosaur Park, Combe Martin, North Devon, England, United Kingdom

Over the years the Wildlife and Dinosaur Park located in Combe Martin, has grown steadily into a wonderful experience that makes the visitor want to come back again and again.

We are always looking to make the park a better place for the animals and the visitors alike, providing both educational and one off experiences. Here at the park we realize that the dinosaurs came before the animals that we see today! Our Californian Sealion's not only put on a show for you everyday.
As part of the education process our sealion trainers explain about natural behaviours of the sealions and what we do at the park to keep them fit and healthy and stop them getting bored through the enrichment process.

Here at the park we have a wonderful selection of birds and a display is presented on the main lawn daily. There you will learn about the different birds... watch them soar into the air and dive down to catch thier prey. We hold six primate species classified as CITES I (Endangered) here at the park. All of these species are threatened in the wild due to habitat loss (i.e. deforestation) and poaching.

The animals we have here are included in regional and global studbooks, and participate in carefully coordinated breeding programs to help promote a sustainable and healthy captive population. We are also collecting funds for ?Proyecto Titi? in Colombia who are working to protect the rainforest habitat and save the Cotton Top Tamarin.

The other species of primate that we hold on the park are classified as CITES II and are also involved in regional breeding programs.

Join us on the park for our daily wolf talk @ 1.15pm..

Come and see our magnificent Lions... in England! Yes.... Lions are the only cats that live in groups, which are called prides. Prides are family units that may include up to three males, a dozen or so females, and their young. All of a pride's lionesses are related, and female cubs typically stay with the group as they age. Young males eventually leave and establish their own prides by taking over a group headed by another male. Only male lions boast manes, the impressive fringe of long hair that encircles their heads. Males defend the pride's territory, which may include some 100 square miles (259 square kilometers) of grasslands, scrub, or open woodlands. These intimidating animals mark the area with urine, roar menacingly to warn intruders, and chase off animals that encroach on their turf.
