Transport Virtu Ferries, in  Vallett is a 100 per cent owned and managed Maltese shipping company. The company has, since 1988, been operating a scheduled, day return, high speed passenger ferry service between Malta and Sicily. This service was expanded to a high speed car/ passenger in 1999.

The MV Maria Dolores, with a capacity of 600 passengers and 65 cars and up to 10 trucks/TIR/coaches/campers, was delivered to Transport Virtu Ferries, in Italy from the builders in January 2006 and is deployed on the Malta-Sicily route. The vessel, cruising speed 35 knots, has four passenger lounges, one of them Club Class as well as catering, shopping and recreational facilities. The crossing to Pozzallo is 90 minutes and to Catania three hours. Daily crossings are increased to two to three times four days in the week during the high season.

Transport Virtu Ferries, also operate Day Return Excursions to Sicily and Malta, popular with visitors to Malta and Sicily.  We also own and operate another three high speed ferries, MV San Gwann, 427 passengers and 21 cars, ACC San Frangisk and AC San Pawl both 316 passengers, between Venice/ Rimini/Ravenna and nine Adriatic ports in Slovenia and Croatia. All the company’s vessels are ISM certified and are registered under the Malta Flag with Det Norske Veritas classification.
