The Star Hotel is situated  in the historic part of the city, in the main High Street, the Hotel is close to parks, the shopping precinct and malls. We are a 20 minute walk from the bus and train stations and various local services pass directly out the front of the Hotel.

Royalty were regular visitors to The Star Hotel in the early 1800's. Our Victoria room commemorates a visit, in 1831, by the Duchess of Kent and then Princess Victoria.

Whilst preserving all the 'olde worlde' charm and atmosphere, the owners and management have succeeded in tastefully furnishing the Hotel to a very high standard. The Oriental Star Restaurant offering a wide range of authentic Chinese, Malaysian and English dishes Restaurant open seven days a week Sunday to Friday 12 noon to 2pm & 6pm -11pm, Saturday 12 noon to 11pm. Our Lounge Bar now offering an exciting range of classic cocktails with a bit of flair and a new wine list.
