Per Sivle, one the most famous authors in Norway around 1900, has his roots here. His father, Eirik Sivle, was born at the Sivle Farm, and Per grew up on the neighboring Brekke farm after the death of his mother.

Sivle Farm lies in the Protected Landscape Area of Nærøydalen, part of UNESCO?s World Heritage List.
