The Royal Winnipeg Ballet began to tour Canada in 1945 and completed its first American tour in 1954. Throughout its history, the Royal Winnipeg Ballet has been a dance leader, recording innumerable firsts.

At the corner of Graham and Edmonton, in downtown Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, the Royal Winnipeg Ballet building draws the eye up off the pavement, past its church windows, its graceful curves and cool angles and up to its peak that resembles a grain elevator.

Reaching up from firm roots, the Royal Winnipeg Ballet's beautiful dance centre has been called "a jewel of a building". For Canada's oldest Ballet company, winner of accolades and warm welcomes in 567 cities world-wide, this is home.
