Welcome to Restaurante Oustau, one of the most characterful in Altea's Old Town.
As a becoming aperitif, a bit of history:
The building we are in is over 200 years old, it's thick masonry walls has once been part of the villages fortified wall.
Along time it has served many purposes, from cloister to primary school (the first in Altea, the boys studied downstairs and the girls on the first floor).
The building has housed the Restaurant for the last 30 years, and it was those first owners that chose the name, Oustau, originally a provençal word meaning hostalry or inn.
